GATE 2027 – Introduction

GATE 2027 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national-level examination conducted jointly by IISc and the IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Ministry of Education, Government of India. IIT Madras is the Organizing Institute for GATE- 2027.

GATE scores are used for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, Humanities and related fields. GATE scores are also considered by several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment.

For GATE- 2027, 30 test papers are available, including the newly introduced Robotics and Automation (RA) paper. The official website also states that the syllabi for the GATE 2027 papers have been revised.

GATE -2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the official eligibility requirements before submitting the application.

Educational Qualification

Candidates who are currently studying in an eligible undergraduate degree programme or have completed an eligible degree can appear for GATE 2-027. The examination covers undergraduate-level subjects across Engineering, Technology, Science, Commerce, Arts, Architecture and Humanities.

Third-year undergraduate students are also eligible, subject to the applicable eligibility requirements for their programme.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for appearing in GATE. Candidates should, however, satisfy the prescribed educational eligibility criteria.

How to Apply for GATE- 2027

Candidates can submit the GATE -2027 application form online through the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).

  3. Complete the registration process.
